Overview:
iENG is the Engineer of Record for this $1 billion LG Chem production facility, designed to manufacture active cathode material for electric vehicle batteries. Upon completion, the five-story facility will be over one million square feet and will stand 160 feet tall. This unique design required a strong engineering team with a focus on both constructability and budget to meet the project's schedule. Designs within our scope included plumbing, mechanical duct, dust collection and process piping. Our contract also includes BIM services for coordination and fabrication detailing, along with in-house commissioning services.
This project includes 1.7 million pounds of ductwork and 10,000 linear feet of piping---most of which is stainless steel.
